About the Pomodoro Technique
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
Created by Francesco Cirillo in the late 1980s, the Pomodoro Technique splits work into focused intervals — traditionally 25 minutes — separated by short 5-minute breaks. After four intervals you take a longer break of 15–30 minutes. The structure reduces procrastination and keeps mental fatigue low.
Why is a focus session 25 minutes?
Twenty-five minutes is short enough to start without resistance and long enough to make real progress. If that feels too short or too long, adjust the focus duration from 1 to 90 minutes in the panel above — the timer adapts automatically.
What happens when a session ends?
You'll hear a gentle chime, get a notification, and the session dots fill in. The timer suggests the next phase — focus, short break or long break — so you never have to watch the clock.
